Opening Prayer of the Frontier

Resolved, That the following prayer is entered into the record as the opening invocation of this foundational address:

In the name of God the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. God, grant us your divine protection as we move to the frontier of our nation to restore her. Let the opposition toward us be reminded by you of their ungracious ends, and let them drop their designs and worship the light we follow. Give us the hope we need to see the greater good promised by the nature of Americanism; give us an internal peace of the love we know is good and true, based on the mutual acknowledgment of our shared divinity and awesomeness. Forgive us, oh great Creator, and forgive our enemies, too, who know not yet fully your Holiness. Thank you, Lord God, Heavenly Father of all. I ask that you, and your eternal son Jesus Christ, provide us with the clarity and light of the truth you do know. May we be alight and aflame by His Grace, Amen.
